  11. Heart Healthy Nutrition in Slovakia Project (HHNP) • Objectives: • Raise the issue of healthy nutrition as public agenda • Reduce the consumption of saturated fat and refined carbohydrates • Increase consumption of vegetables, fruit and soluble fibers

  12. Heart Healthy Nutrition in Slovakia Project (HHNP) Supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) 200-2002 Coordination between University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Ministry of Health, Slovakia

  13. Results of the HHN Project • Established communication and coalition between the scientific community, health professionals, food industry and government • Raised the issue of heart healthy nutrition as a public agenda • Use of the “logo” is in progress
