Job Descriptions Purpose of job descriptions are to: • Outline the tasks involved; • Develop methods used to complete the tasks; • Describe the purpose and responsibilities of the job; • Show the relationship of the job to other jobs.

Job Descriptions • Useful in the hiring process. • Used to train new employees. • Defines the basic outline of duties to be completed within a specific job. • Organizes duties within a workplace.
It is important to be a TEAM • A group of people with different skills and different tasks, who work together on a common project or goal, with a meshing of functions and mutual support. E T M A
BE a TEAM Player Job descriptions are a guide to the work you do. They are NOT all-inclusive. You may be assigned a task that is not specifically in your job description. This is ok and is necessary when working as an effective team.

Purpose of Work Schedules • To inform employees of work to be completed. • To inform each employee of his or her responsibility. • To inform each employee of the sequence of their duties with time requirements. • To achieve good time management.

Merchandising: Part of the job • “Selling” food service is key! Here are some hints that encourage a positive meal experience for students. • Fast, pleasant, and professional service. • Food arranged attractively on the plate. • Positive attitude toward all students and staff. • Keep a smile on your face. • Dress in school colors and/or themes when appropriate to show school spirit.
