These soft sculptures resemble those created by the Swedish-born American artist, Claes Oldenburg (1929 - present), who enjoyed making giant sculptures of foods such as ice cream, hamburgers, and French fries. He also created sculptures by making typewriters and telephones soft and making other small objects—like spoons and clothespins—enormous. Oldenburg forces us to look at our world in new ways by making the ordinary extraordinary!
