Food Service Industry In the Food Service Industry: *Computers are utilized for inventory control. *Major restaurants have computerized databases for ordering food supplies and maintaining a quality inventory. * Food Recipes are available at ones fingertips, or the click of the mouse.
Cosmetology • Hair Salons/Cosmetology uses computers for: • Client database containing: colors perms highlighting recommendations • Client Scheduling • Customer sales and services are computer generated
Flower Shopsand Greenhouses • Florist Shops/Greenhouses use computers for numerous tasks • Computer knowledge for inventory of plants and flowers • Growing seasons of Crop Cultures • Pesticide Prevention You may be a click away from a new plant hybrid!!

How Do I Become Computer Literate? • Basic Computer courses are offered: • Local school districts • Community college • Evening/Weekend Programs
Don’t Have A Computer? • Check local public libraries for computer access.
What you need to know? • Computer Literacy does not mean you need to know how to use every single piece of software, or write computer programs or network but……….
You Need To Know Some Basics • How to turn on/off the computer • How to Save and Open a file • How to use a word processing program • How to send and receive an email
