HSPA Information 2013 Presentation for juniors
Middle States HSPA Goal By the 2016-2017 school year (using the March 2017 HSPA results), Voorhees High School juniors will demonstrate increased levels of advanced proficiency on the language arts and math portions of the High School Proficiency Assessment as measured by: • an increase in the percentage of advanced proficient language arts and mathematics scores to match the percentage for schools in our District Factor Group. Baseline year 2007-2008: • 16.7% of Voorhees High School juniors scored advanced proficient on the language arts portion of the High School Proficiency Assessment, whereas the percentage of students in our District Factor Group who scored advanced proficient was 22.8%.
HSPA Scoring • all students are required to take and pass the HSPA in order to graduate • each section is scored on a scale of 100-300 • below 200 is partially proficient • 200-249 is proficient • 250-300 is advanced proficient
Why should I care if I am advanced proficient? • Honestly, colleges do not find out your score • However, colleges do find out how your school does • The higher the percentage of advanced proficient scores, the more competitive your school
