23. Purpose: • To improve knowledge and understanding of the present situation, historical development and development trends of the maritime transport system including ports and hinterland connections in the BSR

Purpose: • To develop an understanding of the role of organisational and • institutional factors in shaping maritime transport and its • spatial manifestation in the BSR • To analyse how the institutional and organisational • arrangements might help or hinder the attainment of • objectives of sustainability and efficiency
