What is EUMeTrain? EUMeTrain is a cooperation of 6 European National Meteorological Services to provide mainly online training in the field of satellite meteorology. EUMeTrain focuses on the provision of online training material and training courses complementing EUMETSAT’s satellite programmes. EUMeTrain addresses to forecasters, students, and professionals in meteorology.

NWCSAF HRW Aim: Tracking of clouds SAFNWC/MSG version 2012, specific configuration file without using ECMWF as first guess Courtesy to Javier García-Pereda (NWCSAF HRW developer) The NWCSAF HRW product confirmed that the cloud movement deflected to the right respect to the mean southwesterly flow in the eastern and southern flanks, and also inside the storm.

Activities and Orientation in the new phase of EUMeTrain: 2014 – 2019 • One of its goals: • Support the SAFs in their training activities • by creating and publishing training materials: • presentations, case studies, product tutorials etc. • Increased number of training events are expected with the new generation satellites, with the new instruments. • There will be increased need for training.
