We deliver area based projects tackling the following issues : Tackling Fuel Poverty Carbon Reduction Energy Efficiency Income Maximisation Behavioural Change Health/Independent Living Employment and Training London Warm Zone

With our partners we identify target areas and undertake intensive marketing work and door knocking Our assessors visit residents to complete an assessment form in full partnership with local borough Residents can request an assessment by phone, on-line or referral Data collected identifies: 1. if resident requires any heating or insulation work 2. if resident is eligible for any grants3. if resident requires a benefit / welfare health check4. if resident has any health and safety hazards in their home A survey is then arranged and the work carried out by approved contractors The Warm Zone Process

  4. £50 Million invested in energy efficiency measures (circa $80 million) 100,000 homes improved Circa 750,000 tonnes of CO2 saved £7 million of additional income claimed per annum (circa $10 million) through our welfare benefits team For every £1 of public investment LWZ draws in £3 of private investment Key Outputs Since2004

Area Based approach will be at the core of national/regional policy frameworks Borough partnerships with energy companies will be central to future delivery mechanisms LWZ demonstrates best practice in developing these agendas - Transparency/Robust/Flexible - Ability to integrate different funding streams and multiple programmes Tension between Low Carbon initiatives and rising fuel costs* Future Agenda
