Independent Leadership Opportunity Goal: Build relationships with organizations that serve the homeless in Pittsburgh, to: Give our students volunteer opportunities, for mutual benefit Build a map of all the organizations that serve the homeless in Pittsburgh
For CE3 Credit: Need total of 4 credits: • Meet with organization leader of a potential site, introduce to Serebral, collect info, add to map (1 credit, even if no volunteer opportunities gained) • Set up a way for Pitt Med students to volunteer at your new site (1 credit) • Have any student volunteer at your new site (1 credit) • Volunteer at any homeless site (1 credit, 3+ hours, Must do at least once)
Practicalities • Choose a site that serves the homeless in Pitt. There are lots (if you need one, email me). • Email me the site you choose and I’ll confirm it. • Before having people volunteer, email me a “contact person” at that site
Basically, it’s all you • Take a site that serves the homeless, connect them to Pitt and volunteer with them. • Help them connect with other resources that serve the homeless via Serebral and with Pitt Med students at other sites. • Everyone wins.
