6 members assigned to DOM to ensure coverage • 3 -4 departments are assigned to each accountant except for Ruth to ensure high quality of tailored and timely customer service to DOM
Yoon Lee • Joined EFM about four years ago. • Prior to joining EFM audited for six years. • Majored in fine arts, but didn’t want to be a starving artist and chose to do accounting. • Skydived, completed my first half marathon last Sunday, now time to conquer underwater.
Jennifer Aguilar • Joined ORA in 2006 • Managed DOM post award activity since 2010 • Research administration initiatives (ARRA, RAPID, PAMS) • Enjoys presenting at RAF (Yoon made me write this ) • Most thrilling adventure: Skydiving in Hawaii
Franchesca Kim • Of the four institutions worked, three are UC campuses: Irvine, San Diego and Los Angeles • Most positions held at UCs were in Graduate Division Office managing Postdoctoral Scholar and Graduate Student fellowships • In 2010, transitioned to Sponsored Research Accounting at Princeton University • Enjoys skiing (on the bunny slope) for adventure and gardening for relaxation
HarinduWijesekera • Born and raised in Sri Lanka; moved to San Francisco in 2002 • B.A. in Accounting and obtained a Staff Accountant position at San Francisco State University • Worked at SFSU for 6 years prior to transitioning to Los Angeles in 2012 • Joined UCLA EFM as an Accountant 1 for the Cash Management team; currently an Accountant III for Fund Management Team 3 • Current portfolio includes: MIMG, Cardiology, and Dermatology
Robert DeJesus • Majored in Accounting because it did not involve any calculus • Worked for a Hilton hotel for 8 years and never met Paris • First plane ride experience included one of the engines catching fire
Emerson Tat • Joined EFM April 2013 as an Accountant II • Joined PAMS Team September 2014 as a Business Analyst • Prior auditor with experience in Single Audit (OMB A-133) and SEC Financial Reporting • Likes: All underdog LA Sports Teams, travelling, and baking
Ruth Hwang • Joined EFM in March 2013 as Accountant I. Promoted to Accountant II in February 2014. • Previously worked at a multi-national architecture firm in downtown Los Angeles. Experience in contracts, proposals, and accounting of building projects. • Departments I work with outside of Medicine are the School of Engineering, Western Institute of Nanoelectronics, and Institute for Technology Advancement. • Ran four marathons in Los Angeles (twice), Las Vegas, and New York. • Best thing about fund management is working with intelligent people (it's true)
Marina Babaian • I’ve been in the career world since the age of 14 • Prior to UCLA I was a Staff Accountant for a Brazilian Sunglass Company (Chilli Beans) • Believe it or not, I enjoy accounting(it is my major) • I refuse to accept anything but success
