  4. Greeting The Greeting • Dear_________.  The blank is for the name of the person you are writing.  After you write the person's name you put a comma ( , ) . 520 Lincoln Park Road Springfield, KY 40069 April 11, 2007 Dear Ms. Osborne,

Body The Body • The body of the letter is the information you are writing in your letter. 520 Lincoln Park Road Springfield, KY 40069 April 11, 2007 Dear Ms. Osborne, Did you see in the news a few weeks ago that a high school in Alabama was hit by a tornado? Eight students lost their lives. That made me think… we need to change the way we do our tornado drills so we can be prepared in case we ever have a tornado here.

Closing The Closing • The Closing:  In the closing the first word is capitalized and you put a comma after the last word.   Some examples of closings are: Sincerely, Your friend, Love, Very truly yours, 520 Lincoln Park Road Springfield, KY 40069 April 11, 2007 Dear Ms. Osborne, Did you see in the news a few weeks ago that a high school in Alabama was hit by a tornado?
