Course Structure • Credit Framework • 360 credits for a three year degree • More for Placement Year and Foundation Year • 120 credits per stage • You MUST attain all 120 credits to progress • If you do not pass more than 60 credits you may be asked to repeat the modules you fail the following year • All resit / repeat marks are capped at the pass mark • Modules of 15 or 30 credits • Assessment • Coursework and Examination • Coursework Deadline is 12 NOON • Receipts will be issued • Work is handed back via module boxes • Final Degree Award is based on Stage 2 and 3 results

Academic Discipline • Mathematical Subjects are progressive • We EXPECT you to learn as you go along • ALL lectures and classes are COMPULSORY • Attendance is monitored and action will be taken • Self discipline is important • Be aware of your weaknesses and ASK FOR HELP • ALL modules count • We EXPECT you to attempt even non-assessed coursework. You learn by DOING!

Academic Discipline - Plagiarism • What is Plagiarism? • Includes copying from textbooks, journals etc. • Includes copying from the internet • Includes DUPLICATION of another students work • Plagiarism is NOT tolerated and disciplinary action WILL be taken • Similarly cheating in examinations is a serious offence and WILL lead to disciplinary action

Introductory Test • Monday 26th September 10am Keynes Lecture Theatre 1 (KLT1) – THIS IS COMPULSORY!! • NOT Foundation Year students • We do not expect you to study for this it is for us to gauge your starting knowledge • Support classes will be offered where appropriate • Bring a pen • Calculators not needed • ARRIVE ON TIME – 25 questions in 1 hour

17. Timetable Week 1 • Lectures start – MONDAY • Modules consist of Lectures and Classes you will not have any classes until after you have your first lecture on that module. • CHECK YOUR TIMETABLE ON SDS regularly as rooms and times may change
