  2. SIAC Goal #3: Unit Data • Only Digital Literacy Trainers and Media Council members submitted units. • Units were “tuned” this year. • Overall percentage of proficient units increased from last year. • The number of K-4 proficient units continues to be lower, but improved this year.

SIAC Goal #3: Student Data • The 4th grade assessments were much more calibrated between buildings and more tightly integrated with content. . • The 6th assessment was redesigned and recalibrated. Rigor was increased. • The 8th grade assessment scores increased. • The 10th grade assessment results stayed consistent.

Organization by Genre • Why? • Keyword searching – connection between library and digital learning • Reduces anxiety & increases independence • Increases independent reading volume • Youngest library users – increases reading of F & NF • Where? • Creek, Point & HS– Fiction Only • Hill – Fiction and Non-Fiction

  9. eBooks, Audiobooks, Databases Go Mobile • Take advantage of devices students already own & use • Allow access anytime/anywhere – Great for summer reading!

  10. Teacher Librarians are Common Core Partners • Deeper Reading & Text Complexity • Text-sets • Variety of formats • Multiple, small research projects • Reading & research across curricular areas

  11. Library SpacesFor the Future Flexible digital tools – tablets replace search station computers Space – can change & grow Shelves on casters Different spaces for different uses Library as “learning commons” or “intellectual gymnasium”
