  1. Data Navigator – Lite Editionhttp://navlite@ksschooldata.org Quick Start Guide

  2. Once logged in: ~ Select the group you would like to view data for

  3. Once the group has been selected your available data Will be displayed in the navigation box: ~ Select which data type you would like to view data for

  4. To create a worksheet to add data to later click the [Create New Worksheet>>] button and Name your worksheet

  5. Your new data worksheet/s will then be displayed under your available data types in the navigation box

  6. After selecting an available data type, the data elements for That data type will be listed out into your data preview box

  7. After selecting the data element to view data for, All grades having that data as well as which year The data is for will be listed in the data navigation box

  8. After selecting the [List] link next to the desired Grade year data link you are presented with a list of Student scores for that particular Data Type, Data Element, Grade, and Year

  9. When clicking the Grade/Year link a preliminary data View will appear in the data preview box, this box will take a few seconds to query the database and get all selected Grade/Year data for each disaggregated group

  10. After your data is completely aggregated the final data preview Will appear, showing data for all disaggregated groups defined By your district.

  11. To add this data to a created worksheet, select the worksheet From the drop down menu and click the [Add to worksheet]

  12. After data has been added to a worksheet, it can be Viewed clicking into the worksheet it was added to.

  13. Once a worksheet is clicked into the available report types Will appear. To view a particular report, click the report name From the report list.

  14. Student level data that has been Added to a worksheet Is available in the comma delimited File report for user importing Into excel and printing when necessary. The comma delimited report is a simple file for Copy/pasting or saving and opening into excel or a database for your own personal analysis.

  15. When multiple years are added To a worksheet the years Will be displayed and Listed in the table of the report from left to right in the order they Were added to the worksheet Giving the user the ability to Order the data in any order They choose. The profile percentage report is a longitudinal report showing data for each grade, group and Score type for each disaggregation group.

  16.   17. To write narratives and save your report: (1) Save the viewed report to your desktop (2) Open it with MS Word (3) Write narrative above the Graph (4) Save your changes as a word document
