This annotation outreach initiative aims to recruit and support new annotation groups, create documentation for their assistance, and keep track of potential new groups. Progress is tracked on a dedicated wiki page and standard operating procedures are followed. Grants and funding opportunities are also available for new annotation projects. Various conferences and meetings are attended for networking and knowledge sharing. Outreach techniques include personal contact, online submission systems, and community annotation wikis. Future plans include the use of conferences and the development of teaching materials for remote use.
