INTRODUCTION SarasBaug is a major landmark in City of Pune in India. The place where the park now stands was once occupied by a small lake. The whole 25-acre (10 ha) complex is known as SarasBaug. The Ganesh temple in SarasBaug is also known as TalyatlaGanpati. • The Construction of the Temple started in 1750 under the direction of the SawaiMadhavraoPeshwa and MahadjiShinde of the Maratha confederacy. The temple construction completed in 1784 with the • idol of Hindu Lord Ganesh in the temple.
LOCATION The SarasBaug is located within a mile of the Swargate which is a ground transport station for Pune. It is located 5.7 km from Pune Station. Local buses and auto rikshaw are the two modes of public transport of reaching there from pune station.

Planning The planning of Sarasbaug was almost symmetrical with respect to the Siddhi Vinayak temple situated in the center of SarasBaug garden.

Hardscape The main pathway was of 5m and was constructed of stone and paving blocks. There was pond on one side with water fountain. Main pathway Shades The sub pathway was of 2-4m and was constructed of different types of paving blocks.there was various plants and trees along the both sides of the pathways.
Water Bodies… The temple is surrounded with pond with beautiful fountains. There is a fountain below the entrance. There were fishes ,turtles and ducks in the pond,various birds all around the garden. Water Fountain Turtles and Fishes
There was chain link fence around the lawns in • the garden. • There were solar lamposts on the pathways at • an average distance of 18 m. • There were dustbins along the pathways at an • average distance of 20-25m. • There were benches along the pathways at an • average distance of 8-9m.
