  2. For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:12-13

  3. Fellowship is Vital to Christian Growth • 1 Cor. 12:14 “For the body is not one member, but many.” The Nature of the Church:Implications 1 Col. 2:19 …and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God. Ephes. 4:15 “but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ…” 2

If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? • Fellowship is Vital to Christian Growth • Find Your Role The Nature of the Church:Implications I'm NOT a Leader! FAR Too Many Problems! 1 Cor. 12:15-19 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. [16] And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. [17] If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? [18] But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. [19] And if they were all one member, where would the body be? Vs 18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. Too Busy!! Vs 16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. Nobody's TELLING me! 6. Fellowship is Vital to Christian Growth • Find Your Role • Appreciate the Role of Others The Nature of the Church:Implications 1 Cor. 12:20-25 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. [21] The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" [22] On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, [23] and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, [24] while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, [25] so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. [25] so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other [23] and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. 1 Cor. 12:21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!"
