IS THE CRISIS EVERYWHERE? • Today we are living two crisis: • ECONOMIC and FINANCIAL, more evident in the effects it has created than in the causes; • ECO-SOSTAINABLE, caused by the shortage of resources (raw materials and energy)necessary to meet the needs of 6,5 billion people It has marked this period, and can be overcome with time, work and investments It has marked this AGE, therefore radical innovations in the use of natural energy resources which avoid polluting effects are necessary
CONSIDERATIONS In the year19001 billion people inhabited the world; In2008we have reached6,7 billion people, of whom only 25% (the rich) consume 75% of the available resources; In 2050there will be 9 billion people which will cause an excalation in the use of the planet’s natural resources. If mankind does not want auto-involution or the disappearance of modern civilization, as happened on Easter Island (Rapa Nui), it must renew itself and innovate its economic, financial, productive, communicative and residential systems. CONSTRUCTIVE SYSTEMS: today1,7 billion people use approximately 50% of the available resources for building, while the rest is utilized for production, transport and wars. the system would explode if 6,7 billion people were rich.
EXISTANT BUILDINGS use larg amounts of inert materials which have limited thermal benefits and have systems which have high energy consumption. PROPOSAL Buildings with stratified sandwich materials and interposed air chambers (static and dynamic). The poposal highlights the primal function of air as an energy resources: - air is free - air gives heat - air cools - air is a thermo-acoustic insulator - air is life
