Curricular Changes –Integration of Technology • STEM – Modular Learning Computer Lab to introduce STEM Career Fields • Math– Smart Board /Computer Software • English– Addition of Technology Based Read 180 and English 1 Intervention Program for English Learners and Special Education Students , 2011-12 • Science – Integration of technology , online learning and software programs.

Extended Learning 2011-12 • 2011-12 Summer Extended Learning Program • Enrichment Classes • Credit Recovery • On Line Learning • 9th Grade HS Orientation Academy • Addition of a 7th period to allow all students the opportunity to participate in Academy programs for Enrichment & Credit Recovery. • After School Tutorial Program in all content • Saturday School for Credit Recovery/Online Learning

School Culture – The Centurion Way • Increased Student Recognition • AAA Awards, Centurion Week, Attendance Awards, Honor Roll & Principals Honor Roll, Renaissance Program • Improved Attendance • Semester Certificates and Luncheon • Two months of most improved attendance @ HS • Improved Student Behavior • Recognize students who are always demonstrating “Commitment*Honor*Success” • Reduction in number of students involved in gang activity at school through partnership with OCDE

School Culture • Focus on School Safety • Implemented the Safe School Ambassadors Program • Implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) • Increased supervision throughout the day to check hallways and restrooms • New School Discipline guidelines and enforcement • Gang Intervention Program/Education • Parent Education re: Gangs and Drugs

Parent Involvement • Improved Parent Support and Communication • Parent Center • Community Outreach Staff Member, Ms. Guillen, available to offer parents & student with resources, education and support. • Outreach Consultant , Ms. Conde, available to work with parents and students experiencing difficulty with regular attendance. • Parent Groups • Parents Teachers Students Association • English Language Advisory Committee • Parent Booster Clubs for Athletics/Spirit Organization

  8. Higher Education Center • Higher Education Coordinator dedicated to College Readiness • College and Career Planning workshops • Parent Meetings re: College Information • Financial Aid Nights – FAFSA • College presentations and Field Trips to Colleges
