  3. Mythology Presentation: Explaining several characters from your myth. Include this info: The character’s name(s) What he/she is the god or goddess of A picture of the character A short bio—character’s history, important life events, etc. 3-4 sentences. Don’t repeat info from your story summary. A chart showing how the character connects to our Greek family tree
  4. Writing and presenting a summary of the story of your myth with your group. You are personally responsible for handing in your own copy of your group’s script for this summary. The summary should be only about 2 minutes long. Your script must be in your own original words. It may not be copied from my handouts or from another source (online, book, etc.).
  5. Analyzing your myth based on ONE of the 4 functions of mythology, and explaining your analysis to the class Your analysis will be a very large chunk of your grade for this project. Spend a lot of time on this. Make sure to give many specific examples from your myth, and explain HOW and WHY they match the function of mythology you chose. (Question 1: What details do you notice in your myth that fall under the ___________ category?) Make sure to explain WHAT this makes you think the ancient Greeks believed about life. (Question 2: From these details, what can we learn about this culture’s beliefs about the relationship between humans and _____________?)
  6. Finding allusions to your myth in ONE of the 4 categories described on the front of this handout, and showing and explaining your allusions to the class. Allusions may be to your exact story, or to characters in your story. Include this info: Which character or part of the story? Show us the allusion (find a picture of the art, put up the song lyrics, show and read a section of the poem, show us the advertisement) Explain how the allusion is connected to your character or story.
