The 3 Big Ideas • The fundamental purpose of our school is to ensure that all students learn at high levels. • If we are to help all students learn, it will require us to work collaboratively in a collective effort to meet the needs of each student. • Educators must create a results orientation in order to know if students are learning and respond appropriately to their needs.
The 4 Questions • What do we want our students to learn? What should each student know and be able to do as a result of each unit, grade level, course? • How will we know if they have learned? Are we monitoring each student’s learning on a timely basis? • What will we do if they don’t learn? What systematic process is in place to provide additional time and support for students who are experiencing difficulty? • What will we do if they already know it? How will we extend/enrich?
Collective Teacher Efficacy: The Research • Read the article. • With your table group, discuss how the PLC process connects to collective teacher efficacy. • Be prepared to share out.
