Dysfunctional Institutions? • Two parent families to one parent to no parent! • Everybody is in the same boat. No help! • Churches are not community churches, their influence stops at the front door. • No crime prevention and many temptations • 50% chance of getting a high school diploma • High paying manufacturing jobs are gone, low paying service jobs are growing and higher educationis expensive. • The judiciary system says lock them up and leave them their. • The Department of Corrections wants more jails, more correction officers and more inmates.

Successful Reentry • Get out of the Dept. of Corrections System. • Stay out of the judiciary system • Go to church, develop the moral self. • Give back to the community, you are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution. • Education is a continuum, get educated. • Get some marketable job skills. • Create a support system that supports you and does not judge you. • Be a good son, a good husband, a good brother and a good parent.
