    2. Essential Question #1 What similarities/differences exist between the poet and the speaker? The poet is the poems author; the speaker is the voice that speaks the poems words. Sometimes they are the same, but often, they are not.

    3. Essential Question #2 How does the sound device, repetition, contribute to the poems overall impact? Repetition refers to sounds, words, phrases, or lines that are stated or used more than once in a poem. Poets use repetition to emphasize an idea or convey a certain feeling.
