  5. Discuss this with your fellow students Describe what kind of consequences the following scenario may have on your 1) reputation, 2) career and 3) relationships in the worst case? You have plagiarized your thesis, after ten years you are in high and public position in a famous organization. A reporter of tabloid or newspaper finds out that you have copied materials in your thesis and presented those as your own opinions. The reporter publishes this information.   8. Don’t copy and paste! Examples from article reviews written by students. Colored parts are copy and pasted. (detected by Turnitin-software). Unfortunately some of the students failed the course, because they did not refer to the literature source.   9. What to do in practice? First of all, follow the rules of referencing source materials. Indicate clearly in your thesis, which parts are from earlier research and which findings and conclusions are from your own study, for example: (However, don’t put “This study/Based on this research..” in the beginning of every sentence. Think about the style and how the reader understands your text) In some cases you can use direct quotes from source materials, but put them inside quotation marks/use italics/indention and remember the reference.
