WELL COME TO TRAINING PROGRAME On APPLICATION & OPERATION OF TOTAL STATION OVERSEAS MARKETING CORPORATION (PVT),LTD Association with Local Government Engineering Department ( LGED)
Training Summery • What is Total Station? • Total Station Overview • Basic Concept • Series Features • Application Software • Operation/Application
INTRODUCTION - TOTAL STATION Total Station is an electronic device, which can determine the coordinate of a target point in a digital form. It transmits beam of infrared light towards the target (reflector) & receive the reflected beam from the prism & calculate the distance, bearing & 3D coordinate of that target point with respect to the reference point.
Traditional Survey Equipment & Total Station • Distance & Level • Bearing / Angle • Co-Ordinate (GPS)
Main Technical Data “Ultimate Standard” • Highest Protection against Dust and Water: IP66 • Consistence speed Meas. Time: 0.9sec • World-proven, Time-tested Angle Reading System: Absolute Encoder • Quick Operation in All Conditions: Easy-to-use control panel • Security: Password function • Flexible Data Management: SD/SDHC&USB slot Bluetooth class2 (option) • Built-in Laser Plummet (option)
Soft Key Operation Select <S-O data> [ESC] key [ S-O] key [OK] key [OK] key
Password Protection Function • Security purposes • 3 to 8 alphanumeric characters
Application • Distance and Angle Measurement • Angle Measurement • Area Calculation • Remote Elevation Measurement (REM) • 3-D Coordinates Measurement • Resection • Set-out • Point Projection • Traverse Adjustment
Surveying Work Flow • Tripod Setup On a Known Point • Instrument Setup on Tripod • Centering & Leveling the Instrument • Configuration (one time) • Job open (If required) • Backside Point Setup (Prism) • Start Measure • Data Transfer to PC
Instrument Set up on The Station • Set the Tripod on the Known Point • Put the Instrument on Tripod & • Confirm Centering using by • Optical plummet • Confirm leveling by Horizontal & • Base Circular level • Set the prism on the Known Point • Power on the TS

Application Angle Measurement The included angle between two points can be measured using ‘0SET’ function. • Sight to the first target • Press F3 for ‘0SET’ and it will flash. • Press F3 again while ‘0SET’ is flashing and horizontal angle display will set to 0º 00’ 00”. • Then sight to the second target and the horizontal angle display is the included angle between 2 points.
Application Distance and Angle Measurement Distance and Angle can be measured at the same time using F1 (DIST).
Application Remote Elevation Measurement
Application Coordinate Measurement
Application Resection Measurement
Application Setting-out Measurement
Application Setting-out Line
Application Point Projection
Application Traverse Adjustment
Using External Memory Media Slide the catch on the external interface hatch cover down to open. Insert the memory device in the respective slot. The contact part of SD card should be facing the instrument. To remove SD card from slot, push further in first. Then release to eject.
Using External Memory Media Selecting Media Type • Power on the instrument. • By default, the instrument will be in measurement page. • Press ‘ESC’ to get into status page. • Press ‘MEDIA’ to get into media mode. • Select ‘Media selection’ • Select desire media type from ‘SD’ or ‘USB’ using left/right arrow key • Then press ‘OK’
Using External Memory Media Storing Job Data • Select ‘Save data’ in ‘Media’ • Select the job to be recorded and press ‘Enter’. ‘Out’ will be displayed to the right of the selected job • Then press ‘F4’ for ‘OK’ • Enter name for the job file (by default, job file name in the instrument will be assigned) • Then press ‘F4’ for ‘OK’ and the job file will be saved in the selected medium with entered file name.
End of Presentation Thank You!
