PROJECT: INDUSTRY & SMEs DEVELOPMENTReporting period: 01/08/2013 – 31/08/2013 Project Brief/Summary • Industries & SMEs project aims to create more green companies and local entrepreneurs that produce certified green products and services. In transforming Industry from current technology to Green Technology, this project has focused on these strategic initiatives:- • Promotion, awareness & knowledge • Capacity building including Training of Trainers • Coaching session and advisory • Green label certification • Marketing • Business Matching With these initial actions, the transformation process will progress effectively. Objectives • To assist local companies in producing green products and services. • To transform local companies including SMEs in implementing green technology applications and green practices. Project Fund: RM 834,267.00 Duration: 01/01/2013 – 31/12/2013 • Expected Outcomes • To organize 10 events of seminar, workshop, conference or exhibition by 31 Dec 2013 • To assist 10 companies in getting green label certification by 31 Dec 2013 • To develop one training module for Industry & SMEs and organize 2 training sessions by 31 Dec 2013 • To organize 3 events of business matching, forum or technical visit • Status • Organized 12 events of seminar and workshop • Identified 89 GreenTAG companies as potential candidates • Developed two training modules and organized 2 training sessions • Korea is tentatively agreed to participate the event. While Taiwan still in negotiation.

2. PROJECT: INDUSTRY & SMEs DEVELOPMENT Reporting period: 01/08/2013 – 31/08/2013 Activities Completed (During reporting period) • Prepared documentation and logistic for organizing GreenTAG Coaching Session for Eco Label Certification in Shah Alam • Prepared documentation and logistic for organizing Seminar on MyHIJAU Industry & SMEs • Finalising the module of Introduction on Green Technology for SMEs % completed: • 10 events (100%) • 10 companies get green label certification (10%) • One Module & 2 training (100%) • 3 business matching/forum/visit (20%) % funds utilised: 13.55 % • Activities Planned (For next reporting period) • To organize GreenTAG Coaching Session for Eco Label Certification in Shah Alam by first week of September 2013 • To initiate the discussion with SME Corp on potential collaboration in the area of SME development in Green Technology. • To initiate the mock training of Green Management System and Green Entrepeneur with USM • To finalise the GreenTAG 2+1 years Coaching Programme for SMEs especially on training modules and other relevant existing programmee.g National Standard Compliance Programme

MOSTI, MITI, SIRIM BHD., SME CORP., MARA, MIDA, Universities and Private Companies
