  2. Ms. L bought her oldest daughter, Emily, a guinea pig for Christmas. Emily named her guinea pig Nicholas in honor of the season. • Image Emily’s (and Ms. L’s) surprise when three weeks after Christmas, Nicholas gave birth to seven babies!!

  3. It wasn’t long until Nicholas’s babies started having babies and Ms. L had to build a guinea pig condo (No really, she did!) • At one point Emily and her three siblings had: • fluffy white guinea pigs

  4. Brown, black, and white guinea pigs

  5. Smooth-coated brown guinea pigs

  6. And silky black guinea pigs

  7. Ms. L realized that it was time to sell some of the guinea pigs. The kids decided to take a photo of the cages and make a flyer to hang at the pet store. • Emily wanted to have several identical cages of guinea pigs. • Each cage would have the same number of each type of guinea pig. • Tess, Hannah, and Ben wanted to make as many identical cages as possible.
