DCAS Quick Facts • DCAS Assessment- adaptive, online, diverse item types • Initial Test Year: 2010-2011 • Content Areas Assessed • Reading (Grades 3-10) • Mathematics (Grades 3-10) • Science (Grades 5, 8, EOC) • Social Studies (Grades 4,7,EOC) • Grade 2 Practice Assessment (Spring)
DPAS Student Growth Measures Checklist and DCAS • DCAS design features include: • All enrolled students will participate in three assessments in 2010-2011, and up to four assessments in 2011-2012 and future • Adaptive test administration plan with test blueprint and standardized scoring • Valid measure of student growth on standards and GLEs • Data storage and score reporting mechanism reports data at state, district, school, grade, class, and student levels • Selected Measure must demonstrate: • Growth in student achievement using at least two measures over time • Has standardized administration and scoring • Valid for stated purpose • Recorded student level data available from archive
DCAS: Design Criteria • DCAS will measure Delaware standards and grade level expectations in reading, mathematics, social studies and science • Online, Adaptive • Designed to measure student growth within the school year and between school years • Student scores will be available within days of student’s completed assessment session- the system updates as students finish the test
DCAS Scores and Reports • Online Reports will provide educators with views at district, school, grade, content area, class and student level • Data comparison at all levels at specific points in time (test administration) and over time
