That concludes my thoughts on the best estate agents around. I have no doubt that there are some other good local estate agents but these are the ones that I believe to be the best.

Always choose the best Local Estate Agents for selling properties I’ve worked with so many Local Estate Agents over the years, some of them have been brilliant and some of them have been awful. Of course, I think Pink Street is one of the best estate agents in Portsmouth and Southsea but this isn’t about Pink Street. This is about the other local estate agents that I believe are also excellent. This might be controversial and the estate agents I don’t mention might disagree. It’s my opinion and I’ll happily debate with anybody on my thoughts. By the way, I won’t be slating any agents here, that’s not my style. I know how hard it is to be an estate agent and I respect all my competitors that are striving to do the right thing in the right way. Let’s start with Jefferies, Portsmouth. Jefferies is a very effective Estate Agent. I really admire and appreciate their aggressive approach to winning new listings. They’re also one of the best local estate agents for selling properties too. They don’t seem to put as much effort into their listings and their photos aren’t greatbut I guess that’s irrelevant because they sell most of their properties. I’ve heard they tend to ignore properties that don’t sell quickly but I can’t confirm thatand I’m not sure if I disagree with that practice if a property isn’t selling and the owner is not prepared to make any changes to achieve a sale. Should the estate agentcarry on investing their own money, time and resources into the property if the owner is not working with them? That’s not my feedback by the way, that’s from clients I’ve spoken with so I can’t confirm the legitimacy. It’s the owner who ultimately decides the advertising price and the estate agent is the one who’s criticised if they can’t sell it at the owner’s price. Anyway, that’s a whole different articleand I’ve gone off on a tangent there.
Fox n Sons, Portsmouth are another effective local estate agent despite being part of a large corporate company (Sequence). Fox n Sons have managed to maintain a good local reputation because they act like a local estate agent rather than a big corporate company. Having said that, they also uphold very efficient corporate practices and they’re branch is extremely well organised by Alistair Jones. They’re always in the top 3 Portsmouth estate agents and, on the whole, their customer feedback has been positive. In my opinion, they are a proper estate agent that look after a client from start to finish. I find it hard to pick out any bad points about Fox n Sons and I know they’ll be one of those agents that survive the changes to the estate agent industry. If I’m going to pick a hole, I think they could benefit from some modernisation and their marketing/advertising is a little out-dated. It’s worth adding that their Southsea and Waterlooville branches are also very well organised by Sam Broadbent and Aaron Squire respectively. Lawson Rose are relatively new to the industry but they’ve really proven themselves to be a very reliable and effective local estate agent. They mainly focus on the Southsea market but also venture into Portsmouth which can only be a testament to their reputation. I love their branding, it’s simple and unique. Plus, their shop in Southsea is kind of cool too. They win listings
through honest valuations of properties and being excellent advisors to clients. There is no bullshit and they don’t put any effort into criticising other local estate agents (as far as I know). They’re also pretty effective at selling their properties too. I would say their one of the best estate agents in Southsea now and have quickly established themselves with a good reputation. I would argue with any estate agent that has a bad word to say about this company. They’ve taken on new staff and I am interested to see if their new valuers can maintain the excellent service the two owners (Chris and Liam) have established. Last, I’d like to include Bernards in this. Bernards have a good reputation as a reliable local estate agent in Portsmouthand Southsea. They’re well organised by Dan Byrne and they’re always in the top 10 agents around the area. I love their new branch in central Portsmouth and that will definitely make them one of the top Student Lettings Agencies too. I love their branding, very subtle and appealing. They’re great at progressing a sale to completion, very thorough indeed. My only criticism is that some of their staff tend to put a lot of effort into slating other estate agents which is a shame because I don’t think they need to do it. I think it dents their integrity and I don’t think it fits with the values their owners and founders have clearly installed throughout their company. They’re effective at selling properties too and sell most of their properties. They also put a lot of effort into their listings too which I respect in all the best estate agents in Portsmouth and Southsea. That concludes my thoughts on the best estate agents around. I have no doubt that there are some other good local estate agents but these are the ones that I believe to be the best. My opinion is based on client feedback, my own view of their business and feedback from my staff. If you want my honest opinion about other agents, email me and I’ll happily share my thoughts and experiences.
