This is the most important feature of quality. • It also studies safety between industry and the market and then between the market and the consumer.

Facts on food safety(WHO) • More than 200 diseases are spread through food • Food contamiation also affects the economy and society as a whole • Everybody has a role to play in keeping food safe • Consumers must be well informed on food safety practises II. HACCP is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finish product to be unsafe and designs measurements to reduce these risks to a safe level • This system can be used at all stages of a food chain, from food production and preparation processes including packaging, distribution etc. • HACCP attemps to avoid hazards rather than attempting to inspect finished products fot the effects of those hazards.
