  5. Characteristics • Mentally Tough • Resilience • Focus • Strength • Preparation Training and competing requires personal responsibility, commitment, sacrifices, determination, and persistence.

  6. Training • The two most important words when it comes to cross country are June and July. • If you want to be the best, you have to train harder than the rest. • Everyday this is what to expect: • We will warm up as a team. • Stretch in groups • Practice begins • Push-ups/sit-ups/or some type of plyometric work • Cool down and group stretch • Training will consist of: tempo runs, hill work, speed work, time trials, distance runs, etc.

  7. Set Goals • Set short term and long term goals and write them down. • There will be times when you hit a brick wall during training. This is when it’s important to reflect back on your goals. • Use goals as motivation. “Tomorrow is another day and with it another battle.”
