  1. EPHESIANSChapter 02 GOD’S NEVER ENDING GRACE I. INTRODUCTION A. Paul told us that Jesus “made us accepted in the beloved.”

  2. 1. “accepted” = charming, and agreeable. 2. Jesus has authority over EVERYTHING! 3. A challenge for us all to live like the King’s kids. B. Paul continues with what our Savior has done for us!

  3. 1. Subject - His never- ending grace!! II. EPHESIANS 2:1-3  A. “you” = the Gentiles! 1. Gentiles = unredeemed sinner! a) All of us!

  4. b) We “missed the Mark” of salvation! c) “trespass” = “a lapse or deviation from the truth.” (1) “Deviate” one degree, you end up lost! B. “prince of the power of the air” = satan 1. satan is not omnipresent!

  5. C. We were all creatures of the flesh at one time. • III. EPHESIANS 2:4-7  A. “Grace” = getting what we don’t deserve! • 1. Verses 4b-5

  6. a) “Getting what we don’t deserve = grace!! B. Verse 6 = what Jesus did verse 7 = why He did it. 1. Jesus made us spiritually alive! 2. Show how rich His grace is toward us!

  7. a) An eternal testimony!! IV. EPHESIANS 2:8-9  A. Salvation comes as a result of our faith in Jesus! 1. Salvation = getting what we don’t deserve!

  8. 2. “Grace” nor “faith” originated with us! a) Comes from the heart of our Savior! b) If it wasn’t “free” we would feel that we “earned” it. c) We would boast! d) We love Him for doing what was impossible!

  9. V. EPHESIANS 2:10  A. “workmanship” = “a thing that has been made” 1. We were made as a vessel for good works! a) We became vessels of dishonor!

  10. 2. Now fit to be what we were created to be! a) Reflection of the creator! B. Talks of several different types of “works.”  1. “Works” of the Law a) Because you have to!

  11. b) Christ not in that! 2. “Works” of the flesh a) Galatians gives a list! 3. “Works” of darkness a) We are to have no part of these. 4. Dead “works” a) Works done without Jesus! 5. Works of righteousness

  12. a) Thinking we will be saved because we did them! C. Some “good works”. • 1. Matthew 5:16  • 2. Colossians 1:10  • 3. 1Peter 2:12 

  13. VI. EPHESIANS 2:11-12  A. Before they gave their hearts to the Lord - alienated from God entirely!VII. EPHESIANS 2:13-17  A. Jesus made Jew and Gentile one!

  14. 1. The wall in the Temple has been removed. a) Replaced with a bridge, the cross! b) Two have become one spiritually!!VIII. EPHESIANS 2:19-22 

  15. A. After salvation our “world” changed! 1. We become “citizens”, of the household of God!! • B. Jesus is the foundation of it all!!

  16. 1. The Apostles build upon the foundation. a) This building is “alive!” b) As Christ lives in each one of us. c) Bring honor to the One who designed the living building - HIS CHURCH!IX. CONCLUSION
