Invasive… An invasive species is a non-native species that has been introduced to a new environment with negative affects. A native species is a species that originated in and inhabits a certain area. An introduced species is a species that has been placed in an ecosystem by humans for one reason or another.
The Effects of Invasive Species • Invasive Species get into new environments many ways, intentional or not. These include the following: human introduction for restoration, fish stocking, pest control, opening of canals and waterways, and other forms of unintentional introduction by humans. • Invasive Species can also take the place of native species, damage the environment, change the ecosystem, and reduce health and productivity in ecosystems.
