  3. Case Due: Evaluating the Industry • What elements of the industry should John and Rita examine? • Is the beverage industry a good industry to launch a startup? Why or why not? • Is there a source of an opportunity for a new business here? If so what is it? If not why not? • Is this an opportunity that favors new firms? Why or why not?

  4. Workshop • Hand in and discuss QuickScreen exercises for two ideas selecting one for further study. • Work on Exercises 1 and 2

  5. Assignment for October 12 Case Due: Ken Green – A Decision for the Future. (hand out materials) The report should be typewritten, a maximum of two pages answering the questions and individually prepared. Ken will be present to explain why he decided to buy Great Northern Pizza Kitchen.

  6. Workshop Exercises 1 & 2 should be completed. Observations and questions welcome.
