Lunch 12-1245 Use the time to network
Why Work in Partnership • What's the benefit of working in partnership? • Why did you choose that collaborative approach?
Why work in partnership • Access to knowledge and expertise learning from each other • Access to people: services users, staff and volunteers • Innovation: new ways of working • Efficiency – but do remember this is often over time and requires investment
Partnership Structures • Joint and Severally Liable (JSL) • Consortium with Lead Partner
Issues to Consider if you are going to be • Lead Partner • Member of a JSL Partnership • Sub contracted partner
Sticky Issues Think of some of the partnerships/collaborations you have been involved in: • What challenges got resolved? • What challenges didn’t get resolved? • What was the impact on the partnership?
Scenarios • One of the partners is not turning up to partnership meetings – we want you to think about all the reasons that this could be happening? • You aren’t receiving any referrals to your service – we want you to identify all the reasons why this could be happening? Use the three circles, write in what the problems might be in terms of Work, Structure and People.
What are the things you hold dear? • What makes you feel anxious or frustrated? • What do you need to see to know that everyone is committed? • And, how can you help others to understand this about you and help your own wellbeing?
