HEART ATTACK (Coronary) • SIGNS • Intense, griping pain in the left chest, neck to jaw through the shoulder blades • Pale, cool moist skin • Trouble breathing • Denial • May have no pulse/breathing
HEART ATTACK (Coronary) • TREATMENT • If conscious • Ask if they have any medication • (nitroglycerin tablets) • Elevate head & shoulders • Have them cough violently

STROKE (Blockage in the brain) • SIGNS CONT. • Slurred speech • Difficult to swallow & breathe • May have no pulse/breathing
STROKE (Blockage in the brain) • TREATMENTS • Ask – if conscious (are you conscious) • ABC – if unconscious • Treat for shock • Lay on left side (stomach) • Talk to victim • Call 911 (same as heart attack)
