When cooking in a non-stick cookware, cooking over high heat should be avoided for a few reasons. First, the higher temperatures are bad for the nonstick coating on the cookware because it may stick. Over time exposure to high heat will spoil the surface. Also, depending on the type of nonstick coating on your cookware, cooking over high heat can lead to the release of unhealthy, potentially toxic vapors. Using nonstick cooking spray on nonstick cookware is a bad idea. There are a lot of problems with it. After a while your non-stick cookware will get a sticky content accumulated of the spray that doesn't burn off during cooking. It’s harmful and it’s not even edible. This usually happens around the sides of the cookware. Scrubbing this sticky film off takes some serious efforts and doesn't happen very easy. Using sharp or abrasive objects anywhere near your nonstick cookware is not good. This goes for cooking and cleaning as well. Using sharp objects like, knives or metal spatulas to stir food or remove it from the cookware, along with things like steel wool for cleaning, can scratch and damage the coating on the cookware. Once the coating on nonstick pans starts to peel or gets pitted, it's best to replace them with other utensils. There is hardly any dish that can be cooked without oil. However, if you start using safe non- stick cookware you will enjoy the same dish without consuming a single drop of oil or by using minimum amount of oil. The surface of non-stick cookware is enhanced with a non-stick coating on a base material like aluminum which keeps the food from sticking to the cookware while cooking it completely. The normal or regular cooking utensils absorb a lot of oil while cooking and hence it is difficult to clean them. As we know that the coating of non-stick cookware is very easy to use and prevents the food from sticking and is therefore easy to clean.
