  1. NHAI to Launch Ranking System for Toll Plazas The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in a bid to enhance toll-gate maintenance and operations in the country, will soon launch a ranking system at all Toll booths. This initiative will bring to appraise the authorities on issues in tolling operations. The system has been proposed for more than 300 toll gantries. Using the system, the NHAI will rank the Toll gates based on cleanliness, staff work, and the availability of emergency facilities and basic amenities at Toll plazas. The ranking system will identify loopholes in Toll booth operations and help the NHAI improve it. The National Highways Authority of India intends to publish on its website the names of three Toll gates that ranked the highest among others. By creating healthy competition between plazas, the NHAI’s ranking system will encourage Toll administrators to provide best services to highway users. In a similar initiative, the NHAI recently introduced Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) at several toll gates to facilitate seamless fee collection. The ETC system will not only mitigate the commuter’s issues at toll gates but also will improve the overall management. Similarly, the NHAI’s Wayside Amenities works also to facilitate basic, modern, and advanced amenities to motorists. The cluster project will increase hygiene at amenity centres along national highways and help increase the Toll’s rank indirectly. The Wayside Amenities project - Highway Nest, Highway Village, and Highway Nest (Mini) - will bring cleanliness to the Toll gates. Wayside Amenities will also provide advanced emergency facilities for highways commuters. Moreover, the NHAI has a dedicated team to visit Toll plazas, monitor the project applications, and draw new methods to improve highway user experience. Managing the road network of over 70,000 km of National Highways in India, the centres autonomous wing - the NHAI - is proactively executing and monitoring all highway projects that fall under its purview. Acting as a nodal agency for all the national and international road operations, the NHAI is building the nation by strengthening the road infrastructure of the country. The Toll-plaza ranking system, the ETC model, and Wayside Amenities are roads that will take the nation towards growth. #TollplazaIndia #Highwaytraffic #RoadprojectsinIndia
