  1. A Fisherman’s Tale: Casting the Vision

  2. Why is vision so important? “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18

  3. “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.” Proverbs 29:18 (The Message)

  4. A Vision is… A dream, idea or goal flowing from God-given passions that gives direction and inspires people to act with purpose

  5. 3 Steps to “Casting the Vision” for your team…

  6. Step 1: Choose Your Bait.

  7. Questions to ask yourself… What are we trying to accomplish? How can I “narrow the focus”? What is God’s vision for our team?

  8. A Man of Vision: Paul the Apostle

  9. Paul’s clear vision for his life: “For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Acts 13:47

  10. Step 2: Cast your line.

  11. Communication Keys: Keep it simple. Express the urgency. Get excited!

  12. Nehemiah expressed the urgency: “Then I said to them, ‘You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.’” Nehemiah 2:17

  13. Step 3: Wait for a bite…then reel it in!

  14. Things to keep you moving: Frequently remind your team of the vision. Determine small “wins.” Never lose your vision!

  15. A Little Reminder: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
