The year of 2014 was a wonderful year for Pakistan filmmakers. The country has been pushing the movie industry and encouraging citizens to appreciate local movies. It could be the new era for cinemas in Pakistanas they can be enlisted along with Hollywood blockbusters in theatres. The release of 7 movies proudly made by Pakistanis has shown us the growth of demands from the people and seeing the amount of interest, producers begin to create many movies in Pakistan that are inspiring and representing the locals as well.
Pakistanis have enjoyed international movies since 2006 as the government’s regulations allow Bollywood and Hollywood films to enter the country with specific censorship. This easiness of importing movies become the standard of how a message is delivered through filmmaking. People are now aware of great movies, movies that entertain and they always anticipate box office movie showtimes in Pakistan.
The country began to renovate old cinemas and build new theatresto cater the people’s enthusiasms. Cine-goers are indulged with new studios, high-class halls and everything in between just to make sure they have great movie experience. • Multiplexes were established and so does the popcorn stands. Pakistani entertainment is now highly influenced by what’s showing now. However, this great experience comes with higher ticket pricing though. Due to the geographically strategic locations and the urban lives of city dwellers make it easier for these Cineplexes to raise their price. There are so many other cinemas in Pakistan that are charging too much fee from visitors (or movie lovers), but their services are also good or worth for the price.
So far, movie times in Pakistan are presented in 65 screens throughout the country. There will be more theatres to come and the constructions allow Pakistanis to choose among at least 85 screens. The theatre does make money from the ticket sales and profiting from movie playing.
The challenge now relies on Pakistani filmmakers. How they are able to compete with international movies that are known with high standards of movie productions. The creativity is a challenge these days where making film is not just about making good money out of stories but also how they deliver the message to the audience and actually inspire them. But the country has been positively embracing the competition as the 7 local films have proven to be successful. Many promising local actors and actresses are born and show their capabilities. Pakistanis are expecting more incredible movies made by the local creative’s.
