AREA AND PERIMETER OF RECTANGLES LESSON In this lesson you will be learning about how to find the area and perimeter of a rectangle! Please be sure to quietly work on this assignment individually. Perimeter • Perimeter = 2L + 2W • Perimeter is the distance around a two-dimensional shape
Perimeter = 2L + 2W 2(4) + 2(10) = 8 + 20 = 28 feet
Area • Area = L x W • Area is the size of a surface
Area = L x H 10 x 4 = 40 feet

To find the perimeter of the coffee mug, you would take the length times 2, plus the width times 2. Click the coffee mug when you think you have found the answer. If you need to, use the pen tool to show your work! 4 inches 2 inches 2(4) + 2(2) = 8 + 4 = 12
