The Agency for Governmental Management The mission of the Agency for Governmental Management is tocontribute to ensuring the efficiency of the governmental agencies, primarily within the areas of accounting,financialcontrol, payment management and digitalisation ofadministrative processes The agency is furthermore in charge of issuing rules and regulations for central government financial administration and payment management - and ofpreparing the central government accounts forsubmission to parliament

  3. History and background Strategy: Centralised to decentralised Our aim was to decentralize the old mainframe system and be able to offer better financial management to governmental entities. Future governmental initiatives • Electronic invoices will be mandatory in 2005: • Suppliers have to send electronic invoices • Local and central government bodies have to receive electronic invoices • Local and central government bodies have to support national IT standards (XML and digital signature) • Accrual Accounting Saving = € 30 million per year
