Norms 1. Stay fully engaged with discussion or activity. Hold off side bars and use of technology to scheduled breaks. Group will use parking lot for burning questions. 2. Will follow a planned agenda with flexibility to accommodate speakers’ questions, and process time. 3. Respect other opinions and ideas. Monitor airtime so everyone will have a voice. Push yourself and your thinking. 4. Come Prepared. Materials read. Take care of personal needs when necessary.
Triad • Hold up your research book. • Join two other people who have DIFFERENT research books than you. • Share your learning from this book up to this point.
Questions to guide Triads • What’s the overall purpose of your book? • What’s the most powerful thing you’ve learned so far? • What questions do you have? • What do you hope to still learn?

Dr. Gina Cervetti Assistant Professor at University of Michigan, formerly at the University of California, the University of Colorado after earning PhD at MSU. Some of her research focus points: • The interface of literacy and content area learning. • How inquiry experience in science can provide and authentic and engaging meaning-based context for literacy learning. • Inquiry across the curriculum and outside of school.
