  2. What is the Supernova Filter? • This application is used in Gimp to add effects to your picture. • The application will add a starburst effect to your photo/image.

  3. Where to find Supernova… One can find this effect in the Gimp 2.0 Application. Find your photo you would like to edit, right click and select edit with Gimp to open your image with the editing application.

  4. Applying the Supernova Effect • 1. Find the Filter tab on the top tool bar in Gimp 2.0. • 2. Click on the Filter tab to see drop box.

  5. Applying the Supernova Effect • From the drop box click on the Light and Shadow selection, another drop box will show on the screen.

  6. Applying the Supernova Effect • From this drop box, you will select the Supernova effect.

  7. Applying the Supernova Effect • After one have clicked on the Supernova selection, a toolbox will pop up. Here one will be able to edit the starburst effect according to what they would like to have on their image. • See next slide to see example.

  9. Changes: Supernova Effect • You can change the color, it is automatically set to white. • Youcan change the Radius, size of the center to make it as big or little as one would like. • The number of spokes (rays of light) can be changed.
