How can I/my parents communicate with you? I have a website through the KISD website that I will post! http://kisdwebs.katyisd.org/campuses/mpjh You will also be given a KISD email address to email teachers. Email: jenniferkisola@katyisd.org Parents can also communicate/planner
TARDIES: Don’t be late. Be prepared and ready for class when the bell rings. This means you are in your seat with your planner out! If you are tardy, you will fill out a tardy form, which I will keep track of. The first one is a warning The second one is a phone call home 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. you are sent to grade principal
UPON ENTERING CLASS: • Sharpen your pencil if necessary. • Take out your planner • Copy down any assignment/tests/homework assigned that day. • DOG=work on daily oral geography for that day
What to bring daily to my class:Pencil/pen/red checking pencilPlanner (hall pass!)Map (colored) pencilsISNscissorsall assignments due
The fun part: RULES!! • Respect yourself, the teacher, your classmates, and their property! This includes keeping hands, feet and unnecessary comments to yourself as well as cleaning up after yourself! • Be in your seat with all needed materials before the tardy bell rings. • Only on-task behavior is allowed. Do not disrupt the learning process for your classmates. • Listen carefully to all instructions • Raise your hand to get out of your chair or to ask a question. • Be organized and neat in your work. EFFORT COUNTS! • Use time wisely! • If you have difficulty with your work or otherwise need assistance, ask for help!
Consequences: • You will get a warning from me the first time you break a rule • The 2nd time, you will have to sign a long discipline form-this is a written warning • The 3rd time I call home and you have a teacher detention, before or after school • The 4th time-sent to grade level principal
Don’t touch anything of mine in my classroom without permission
Where do I turn in my work? Turn in all work in the correct class period BIN in the back shelf
What do I do if I am absent? It is your responsibility to ask for make-up work from me the day you return after an absence. You have 2 school days to make up your work for each day you were absent.
DO NOT: Get up our of your seat in the middle of a lesson unless it’s an emergency. (like if you sneeze and need a kleenex, please get one!) Please wait until I am finished talking.
SHARPEN PENCILS BEFORE THE BELL RINGS!!!
RECYCLE BIN/TRASH Is in the front corner of the classroom, on the other side of the file cabinet. It is not used for a trashcan. There are 2 trashcans: 1 by my desk and the other by the door. CLEAN UP YOUR AREA BEFORE YOU LEAVE CLASS! THIS INCLUDES PICKING UP AND THROWING AWAY ANY MESS YOU MADE
Bandaids /hand-held pencil sharpeners/kleenex • Bandaids can be found in the little basket on my desk. Please ask first. • Hand-held pencil sharpeners are in the bigger basket on my desk. Use to sharpen colored pencils • Kleenex is scattered throughout the room. Please use as needed.
LOCKERS/RESTROOM/NURSE: • You may not go to your locker during class so come prepared. • You may only go to the restroom upon an emergency during my class. Go between class. • You may only go to the nurse if it is an emergency!
Effort • I do not grade how well you can draw, but I DO grade the EFFORT you put into your work. Many of your grades depend on EFFORT.
RESPECT! • This is what I want from you daily
