About G.A.A • The Gaelic Athletic Association is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation • The association also promotes Irish dancing and cultural music. • It has more than 500,000 members worldwide. • Gaelic Football and hurling are the most promoted sports in Ireland in the organisation • Since its foundation in the late 19th century, the association has grown to become a major influence in Irish sporting and cultural life. • The G.A.A motto is “ Be There All The Way”

Players advance the football, a spherical leather ball, up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing. • In G.A.A you can take four steps followed by a hop or a solo but you cannot hop the ball twice. • A goal is worth 3 and a point is worth 1. • A red card is 1 match ban but 2 yellows is a no match ban • A black card means you are sent off but a substitute can come on in your place

Gaelic Football • Gaelic Football or ( Gaelic) is played on a pitch of 15 players a side. • The very first game of Gaelic Football under GAA rules was played near Callan, Co Kilkenny in February 1885 • Kildare was he first county to win the Sam Maguire cup after defeating Cavan 2–6 to 2–5 in 1928. • The establishment of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in 1884 was the defining moment in the history of Ireland's native games. • Maurice Davin invented Gaelic football.

Hurling • Hurling is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic and Irish origin and is the fastest field sport in the world. • It is also played on a pitch of fifteen players. • A good strike with a hurley can propel the ball over 150 km/h (93 mph) in speed and 110 metres (361 ft) in distance. • Bob Hurley invented the Hurley so that is why it is named after him • Hurling is the oldest sport in the world which has been played for over 3,000 years
