This project focuses on improving the management of Rheumatic Heart Disease in remote Indigenous communities through increased compliance with Benzathine Penicillin G Prophylaxis. By engaging with community members, utilizing Aboriginal Health Workers, implementing recall systems, and promoting education, the initiative has significantly increased adherence rates. Through a centralized approach, evidence-based guidelines, and consistent staff support, the project has seen substantial improvements in achieving optimal prophylaxis compliance rates. This journey towards better RHD management exemplifies the positive impact of community engagement and a collaborative, holistic approach.
