Israel Trek 2012 Overview • Dates: Wednesday, May 16th – Friday, May 25th • Trip Capacity: ~60 people • First-come, first-serve (spots go fast…) • Open for Wharton Students and Partners • Places we will visit: • Dead Sea, Eilat, Golan Heights, Jerusalem, Nazareth, Red Sea, Sea of Galilee, Tel Aviv… • Optional Extension: Petra, Jordan • People we will meet • Businesspeople from the technology and VC industries • Israeli thinkers and Israeli officials • Cost • To be finalized in the Spring

  5. we will have a lot of fun We are going to enjoy the beautiful beaches and the warm Israeli summer. We will eat well and drink even better, explore during the day and party during the night.

  6. exploring history We will visit the old city of Jerusalem and see the Muslim, Armenian, Christian and Jewish quarters. We will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where Jesus was buried and then we will continue to the Wailing Wall, which is believed to be the last remaining vestige of the Jewish Temple. • We will visit the sea of the Galilee, where Jesus walked on water and Nazareth where he is believed to be born

  7. visiting unique places The Dead sea, the lowest place on earth, is all about relaxing. We will float and enjoy massages on the beach and one of a kind mud baths The adventurers of us will wake up early to climb the Masada mountain and view the sunrise from the top. We will drive through the desert to the Ramon Crater and view the amazing scenery We will visit the Knesset, the Israeli parliament house, continue to YAD VESHEM and take a night tour in the West wall tunnels.

  8. specifically Tel Aviv and Jerusalem Jerusalem, the capital of Israel and one of the most sacred cities in the world. We will have time to visit the sites, shop in the old market and enjoy the colors, tastes and scents of the spices, traditional food and clothes. Tel Aviv is a modern Sin City on the sea. Hedonismis the religion that unites its inhabitants. There are more bars than synagogues, God is a DJ and everyone’s body is a temple. By far the most international city in Israel, Tel Aviv is also home to a large gay community and one of the best nightlife scenes in the world Lonely Planet, Ranked Tel Aviv 3rd Best City in the World in 2011

  9. we will eat, drink and party We will eat different types of food and visit special restaurants across Israel We will visit one of Israel’s top wineries And will enjoy a gourmet dinner and fine wine in one of the most holistic sceneries in Israel. We will enjoy the great cuisine of Eilat’s restaurants and party in the many clubs in the city We will drive into the dessert and have an open fire Poyke dinner into the night.

  11. and have more fun We will raft through the Jordan river and take a jeep trip through the valleys and mountains of the Galilee. In Eilat, the vacation capital of Israel, we will enjoy the hottest sun and water activities, take a sunset cruise or just relax on the beach and swim with dolphins. Camel rides, massages and more…

  12. optional – PETRA, JORDAN Petra meaning rock in Arabic was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007 and a World Heritage Site since 1985. Petra was chosen by the BBC as one of "the 40 places you have to see before you die". Petra is an historic and archaeological city in the Jordanian governorate of Ma'an that has rock cut architecture and water conduits system. Established sometime around the 6th century BC as the capital city of the Nabataean’s. It is a symbol of Jordan as well as its most visited tourism attraction.
