  1. 3 Signs It’s Time To Take Your Diesel Car For Servicing

  2. Though it is advisable to service your diesel car after it has run 5000 km or after every 6 months, you might need it sooner depending on the make and model of your car. Driving short distances can accumulate more contaminants in your diesel car and it will require servicing. Few common signs indicating that you should take your diesel car for servicing have been stated in the slides that follow.

  3. 01 HARD STARTING

  4. If your car engine is taking a long time to start, it might be because of low compression or fuel delivery issue. The maximum time the common-rail pump should take to build the fuel pressure is 3 to 5 seconds.

  5. 02 BLOWING SMOKE

  6. Check the colour of the smoke coming out of the exhaust as blue smoke indicates that the engine oil is getting burned. Smoke blowing from the exhaust for a long duration can lead to severe damages in your car.

  7. 03 HARD STARTING

  8. It might become hard for you to start or accelerate your car if there are dirty fuel filters, low fuel pressure or issue in the engine sub-system. The mechanic will test the car on a dynamometer to assess the power at the wheels.

  9. Take your diesel car to a reputed mechanic for servicing if you notice any of the issues stated in the previous slides.
