  2. Avoidant • Long standing feelings of inadequacy, and sensitive to the thoughts of others. • Avoids social encounters • Major problems with social and occupational functioning • Shy, timid, lonely, and isolated

  3. Dependent • People depend too much on others to achieve their emotional and physical needs • Fear of being abandoned or separated from • Long term, chronic • Treatment- create treatment goals to become more independent.

  4. Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder • Anxiety disorder • Obsessions- Thoughts that are considered not normal that cause fear and uneasiness • Compulsions- Actions that counter the obsessions and keep the person from actively worrying

  5. Why? • These three personality disorders are grouped together because the people with one of these disorders cannot have a normal relationship with others.
